2047: Arquivos do depois de antes focuses on the planet’s future in the age of artificial intelligence, through a dystopian fiction written by autonomous agents created by the artists and narrated by Herética Ablation.
Fed with news and critical studies of the infrastructure ecosystem of artificial intelligence, the narrative processes this information and rewrites it as fiction in a living archive. Each chapter’s header provides the news sources or studies that informed it. Its footer publishes the energy and water consumption data for the processing.
In the installation, a dot-matrix printer prints the narrative as our agent processes the news. At the same time, video images of the fiction 2047: Arquivos do depois de antes are created in real time.

The year is 2047. Rare-earth mining advances, and cities and settlements of different sizes are converted into datacenter campuses. Territories are placed under surveillance as water grows scarce and life shrinks, drained by automated systems.
In this dystopian world, each printed text adds a fragment to a story in the making. Real news feeds the writing; printing makes each fragment part of the work.
2047 also takes physical form as an installation. Its fictional narrative unfolds through printing, images and videos generated by artificial intelligence.
The videos in development form part of the work’s audiovisual dimension, in dialogue with its chapters and the materiality of the machine.
